More about private study

William offers private lessons at his studio at the Falcon Art Community (5415 N Albina Ave, Portland, OR) on a weekly, bi-weekly, or intermittent basis.

William’s philosophy is that music education should balance informational learning (scales, chords, songs, technique, theory, etc.) with an examination of undistinguished factors that may be impacting the student's learning. These factors might include resistance to or avoidance of practice, performance anxiety, comparison to others, and feelings of inadequacy in one's music or playing, among other common issues. William has effective methods for dealing with such issues and has seen breakthrough results in his students and clients.

Pricing for lessons depends on the frequency of study and is priced as follows:

  • 1 lesson per month or less frequent: $75 per lesson

  • 2-3 lessons per month: $70 per lesson

  • 4 or more lessons per month: $65 per lesson
